I don't understand why 'it's difficult' is a reason for anyone to fall into complacency here.

To me that sounds like a reason to be less complacent. Maybe everyone else is just lazy. Or too terrified to do anything other than assimilate. Maybe it's just easier.

I think some people just give up because it's easier. No one who's fighting ever says they're complacent. For some people giving up is easier than fighting. It isn't a reason. It isn't an excuse. It just... is.

Weirdly enough I meant that first part as a compliment.

Sympathy and understanding are not the same thing; some people are disturbed by that.

Easy has never been an option. From afar it seems like waiting boredly for death.

Nothing about life is easy. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar. I'd rather go down swinging, and that actually is hereditary.
