Obviously. I've read enough urban fantasy to know that much. It can't all be great abs and running through the woods.
[ Darcy. ]
Okay, look. This... It wasn't my secret to share. And I'm not sure how pissed he's gonna be if he finds out I've been talking to someone else, even if I do totally have the best intentions. So you have to promise not to go running off and... I don't know.
[ She sighs heavily, quiet for a short span of time. ] It's my friend. He says he knows he's going to transform, and that it's a really painful, and terrible, and gross process, and he just needs someone there to keep him from running wild, I guess. He says the wolf shouldn't hurt me, but he wants me to be prepared to knock him out if I have to.
[ Werewolf attacks are the last remaining thing that can send Severus into a panic - he's not panicked now, but he's angry, fuming, worried for Darcy, and already exhausted and in pain. It takes him a minute to gather his thoughts so he can do something besides scream at her, which he knows won't help. He tells himself to give her credit for coming to him before and not after. ]
If you have to be prepared to knock him out, it means he has no idea if the wolf will or will not harm you. Transformations here may not be like transformations at home. He's correct in that he needs to be kept from running free, but it must be done safely. For him and for everyone else.
Just locking a door won't do it. And you must not be in the same space with him, under any circumstances. It doesn't matter how safe it seems. It is not safe. No-one, not even with a perfectly clean history, can ever assure safety with a werewolf.
[ As much as she might like to argue, Darcy really can't, because he's talking sense and what she's planning on doing is actually really, really dumb. But she's too proud (or something) to back down from it. ]
I... Okay.
Okay. I'll make sure we're not in the same space. I'll help him get secure before he changes, and then I'll get the hell out of there. Happy?
No. Absolutely nothing is going to make me happy about this. But hurry-- and you're to call me immediately when you're clear, if you aren't clear in ten bloody minutes I will find you.
[ Severus is rushed, irritated, but that sounds more like an assurance than a threat. He will not abandon anyone to a goddamn werewolf attack. ]
Do you want me to come get you now? This is not a joke. I know what happens when someone is killed by a werewolf. And I know that it's actually worse if you survive.

[ Irritation aside, she sighs. ] Sorry. I appreciate this. Really. I'll let you know, okay? Don't worry about me.
