Back in, no, I don't think that's wise even if any of them volunteered. Something in Shepard's message makes me hesitant. But I know I can round up a few people. One of them you may not like, but I'd rather have him working where I can keep an eye on him.
If someone is crazy enough to go out there, knowing what's coming isn't going to make them panic. The ones who're going to panic are the ones who're going to lose their minds if they find out we're attempting it.
