One of my co-workers is a ghost.

I don't think it's the same, but I don't know another word for it.

What about like a memory? Like an echo that came to life. I guess that would constitute as a ghost. What if she's not even real and the ship is just trying to get everyone to look in one direction?

Yes. Collected as electronic data instead of a spirit. Either that or someone very heat resistant, but I wonder about the jump drive.

There are people who are pretty heat resistant. If it actually does get disabled, I'm going to be really annoyed it managed to get me right before.

Maybe. People are already pretty suspicious, though.

If the information offered upon arrival is to be believed, the drive is faulty. We may be witnessing something that has already come to pass.

Then what's the point in letting us see it? To prove that hope is basically futile? Rhetorical question. But I can't imagine that whatever we're supposedly up against is going to be overly helpful with clues.

I have no idea. It could be anything from an attempt to show us the history of this place to a simple accident to, as you said, a distraction.

There's got to be a way of figuring it out. Some people have been here for years. Someone has to know something.

Knowing is very different from understanding, and even more different than applying.

And it seems a number of people are content to know nothing.

That's stupid. I'd rather die because I figured something out than live in ignorance.

I've heard that it's too warm to enter, and that it's having a difficult time maintaining consistent form.

Well, maybe she's not a ghost and the drive is trying to prevent itself from being blown up by a woman whom it hasn't managed to lose or kill yet.

I don't think I know enough about this place to tell her to do one or the other, but maybe she knows... I don't know. Something.

She seems to know what the hell's going on with the ship, but isn't saying out of disbelief that we don't.
