( none might blame him were he to neglect to respond to this message. in fact, elizabeth does not even expect a reply. so she will attempt to frame her purpose for sending this with a request for aid.
it can't hurt, and she has nothing to lose. so! )
Professor Snape; my apologies for the manner in which things occurred during our meeting some months past. Magic is not tolerated in my period in time, and thus I am nervous about revealing it. Since then, however, I have had a vision of the future. Mine, I believe.
I would.. discuss this more openly, if you would be so kind as to allow me another audience.
( also: ) And also, I am curious as to whether you have required the assistance of a man named Cesare of late. He mentioned you would need him for several days.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my piece. I bid you good day, sir.

Let me know when you're free? No rush, I've got to relearn half of my job and Carolyn and I are still trying to work out if there's a more efficient shape I could be using to get it done.
( they're pissing around, catching up, and calling it work. it's just also potentially useful, and therefore doesn't have to be time wasted. )

are you acquainted with Kate Bishop?

where are you?
[ Ten minutes later a tinny rattle marks Erik snaking into the kitchen, a glance craned around over his shoulder after whatever he’s bumped.
Given all the metal one would think he’d have better spacial awareness.
But he’s tired and a bit drugged up, still recovering from the prior month’s mutation and its subsequent removal in medbay. Whatever they have him on hasn’t stopped him from carting an amber green bottle along by the neck, base lifted over a counter edge when he rounds the corner towards the sound (and sense) of activity.
What he sees when he enters line of sight stops him dead, blank uncertainty clear in his eyes, as if he’s just realized he’s walked into an occupied restroom stall.
The result is a little unnerving. Color hasn’t quite finished bleeding back into irises that were pale to begin with, and his hair is bristled short, little more than gingery stubble fuzzed even over the crown of his skull and around his jaw. His eyebrows aren’t much better off.
Fortunately his forehead is furrowed enough to convey confusion all on its own. ]

wow seriously screw last month, this is super late.
so a friend told me that the mythology and history in this place tends to fall in line with ancient greece and honestly my own experience with this place so far has been the same.
which is the only reason this post caught my attention. okay alright so "open me" isn't really a mural and it could mean nothing but considering some of the vague messages we've gotten from things like this smiley person it's not out of the realm of possibilities that it has some sort of connection the the legend of pandora's box.
the use of red for all of these painting, for the messages, for smiley, might just be an obvious attempt at intimidation, but it's interesting to note that fact that ancient greek and minoan cultures used a lot of red for their paintings.
the painting photographed here could be a reference to the hekatonkheires. giants with 50 heads and 100 arms. which sort of coincides with my own mural, even if the number of heads wasn't exactly 100.
i haven't managed to figure out a connection with the number 19 and greek myth though.
couple of murals here. the hole illustrated in the second one could be a reference to the tartarus abyss which, coincidentally, also housed the hekatonkheires. the mural i came across pops up here too.
painting pop up here as well, but don't seem to be described on the network.
that's all i could find for now but i've only been here a couple months so i don't have a great frame of reference for events that have happened in the hallways before i arrived. i'll definitely keep an eye out if anything new pops up though.

[Judder, brighten. William comes into focus in the medical bay; he wouldn't be anywhere else, after all. It's late and he looks uncharacteristically tired. Not falling-over exhausted, but fuzzy, in need of a nap. He also has a whole domed glass hat of something like electrodes on his head, his hair tufting out between the contact points, and there's a clasp holding his neck in place to facilitate whatever unimaginable thing he's doing.] So I'm thinking probably what every other space age person's thinking, that the Tranquility core seems to involve manipulation of space and time. Possibly a tessellation of the continuum through artificially generated wormholes. I'm attaching a discussion of wormholes because you're probably like 'what the ever-loving fuck' unless you've had another consult.
These sorts of space travel technologies were in the experimental stage of my world, but it stands to reason. We seen the detection of numerous, bizarrely contained singularities throughout the ship at various times. Ought to be bloody impossible. [He pauses, jaw squaring, resisting a yawn.]
The singularity tech would explain the ship's progress through space but also the temporal and physical displacement of passengers, probably unintentional. Even that Yank twat, what was he-- Joe Davis, before he sounded like he died on audio. Though Joe seems like he was a great deal more indigenous. Maybe that fucked up carnivorous-looking red figure we keep seeing in the portraits came through too.
The weird symptoms we who went on recon are suffering seem to fit the model of exposure, so. So-- maybe the core gave off some sort of radiation, something different to nuclear energy, but shitty. I can't for the life of me figure out what that old list of names meant, or who was here when and what version. Maybe them too, though.
[He scrubs his finger over his eyebrow and seems to remember something.] The tests I been running are finally showing some patterns. Changes in neurological and brain stem activity that show up only when the symptoms are triggered. A lot of it is in the limbic system is primarily where we process emotions, along with scent and memory. For example, as I transmit this, I haven't slept in three days-- without cognitive impairment and relatively low fatigue. The scanning device indicates I'm presently in pretty fucking intense emotional distress. [He twists the camera so that Severus can see the live picture of William's own brain, the activation areas in blobby white, limned with yellow, burning furiously at the ends of plain indicator arrows. And back to his face again, though he's a little off-center.] However, my subjective experience of affect is-- fine. I like talking to you.
Different people have slightly different limbic activation patterns, but the essentials are the same. The physical signs of emotions that don't fucking map onto what the individual is reporting. There might be more to learn, but that's what I've got so far.
It's all pretty fucking terrible to think about. But. But. [He smiles suddenly.] Glad I've gotten to known you a bit, despite the circumstances. G'night. Or good morning.

I'm a little bit worried about the fact that effects from the more distant corridors are now encroaching on our living space. Am I the only one reminded of what happened on the bridge?
[Of course, what had happened seemed calculated in retrospect to frighten them all, much like the graffiti on their pods. But that had significance, too.]

On behalf of Medical Bay, I'm contacting you as head of your department to see if you would like to volunteer your people for first aid training. this pattern of hands is consistent with what we encountered in the tunnels.
